Shamanic Healing

Shamanic healing is a journey. It involves stepping out of our habitual roles, our conventional scripts, and improvising a dancing path.” -Gabrielle Roth

Shamanism is an intense and effective healing process where the shaman, exclusively relies upon the guidance provided by the spirit guides, takes a shamanic journey also known as a ‘Soul flight’ and ventures into the spirit realms in order to gain insight, retrieve lost soul fragments, lost souls, and interact with shamanic spirits. The journey is also aimed to release negative energy cords, for mediations, entity clearings, emotional healing of fears, anger, traumas etc.

Shamanic Journeying

We are not aware that every one of us go on a ‘shamanic journey’ every night when we go to sleep. When we dream, our soul leaves our body to explore other worlds. This can be considered an ‘unconscious’ journey into the spirit world. We also leave our bodies when we experience trauma, as our soul tries to protect itself, that which causes soul fragments. Our souls leave the body for a number of reasons but few of us have the ability to leave the body at will. This is where shamanic training comes in.

In order to induce a shamanic journey, the shaman must first enter a ‘trance-like’ state. Special music or drumming may be used to mimic the frequency or ‘heartbeat’ of the earth and put the mind in a more relaxed state. The shaman must also make an ‘intention’ for the journey, call on spirit guides, and make sure they are well-protected before entering another realm.

A shaman might go on a journey for the purpose of shamanic healing, to communicate with spirits, retrieve a soul or to meet with their spirit animal.

Spirit Animals

Spirit animals also known as power or totem animals are deeply rooted in shamanic healing folklore. It is believed that every human has a spirit animal at their side – protecting them from danger and negative entities, acting as a spirit guide. Animals are considered to be related through a common spiritual force, and therefore able to communicate and offer guidance to human beings. In shamanic tradition, it is believed that when a human has no spirit animals by their side, they risk illness and general bad luck.

THE JOURNEY

“Shamanic Journeying is the inner art of travelling to the invisible worlds, beyond ordinary reality to retrieve information for change in
any area of your life- from spirituality and health to work and relationships’.
– Sandra Ingermann.

The most common way to enter the spirit world is through the shamanic trance journey. While journeying to the unseen ‘spirit world’ for healing, a shaman discovers the 3 levels or ‘worlds’, The Lower, Central and Upper Worlds that are all inherited by spiritual beings. Each of these worlds have their own vibrations and atmosphere.

The Lower World
The lower world is where our ancestors and spirit animals reside. This realm is totally related with features connected as close to the nature we know and has an earthy composition to it. A shaman possibly will enter this world by going through a hole in a tree
or diving into a pond or traversing through a long corridor for working with healing and transformations. This is also where our ideas and thoughts are recorded and developed. You could say that the lower world is representative of the ‘collective unconsciousness’.

The Middle World
The middle world is very similar to our earthly plane. It’s a multi-dimensional world filled with various thought forms, extra-sensory perceptions, all soul aspects and spiritual dimensions and hidden energies. If a shaman is looking to find a cure for a shamanic healing ceremony, they would enter the middle world for the answer to what ails the sufferer. This is the world the shaman will travel to look for specific informations about the event on earth. This world is considered to be difficult to navigate due to its many layers.

The Upper World
The upper world located much above the earthly world is reached by shaman by travelling higher and higher where spirit guides, angels and cosmic beings reside. This realm is often entered when the shaman needs to channel ‘divine guidance’ on healing a terminal illness during a shamanic healing session. This realm helps to widen and discover new and finer parts of being.

How is Shamanic Healing done?

Shamanism is an intense and effective healing method where the therapist solely relies upon the guidance provided by the spirit guides that could be animals, plants, fire, water, trees, the sun or anything that is from nature.

A Shamanic healer, commonly called a Shaman, is a healer who through shamanic initiation based on certain methods accesses and ventures into the spirit realm across time and space to heal at a deeper level. A sacred space is created to honour the guides who help in Shaman journeys that could be either diagnostic or therapeutic/ healing. When it comes to shamanic healing, the  shaman  essentially works in tandem with spirits, often called ‘helper spirits’, in the spiritual realms. They ‘summon’ these spirits to repair a soul, who may then experience real, physical healing in the earth realm. In order to contact these spirits, the shaman will have to go on a journey by entering a trance state. The more practice and training a shaman has, the easier it will be for them to enter this powerful state.

The shaman with their helper spirit guide invoke shamanic healing and go into the spirit world and heal soul which includes soul retrievals, cord releases, mediation, emotional healing of fears, anger, entity clearings and other understanding situations at the
spirit realm. People who have been through a life-altering trauma, whether mental or physical, may have lost a part of their soul or damaged their ‘spiritual force field’. This makes them vulnerable to illness, bad luck, and various addictions and mental disorders
and these kinds of people would most benefit from a shamanic healing session. A shaman goes into the spirit world and heals their soul, either through their own efforts or by talking to spirit guides/animals.

Is Shamanic Healing Right For Me?

If you feel a little ‘lost’ in life, have gone through a big trauma or are looking for some clarity on what to do about a difficult situation, a shamanic healing session could be hugely beneficial. A shaman will simply act as the connection between you and your guides in the other realms, and make sure your soul is protected throughout the process.

Anyone with past traumas, soul loss, energy draining cords, entity, unexplained fears, abusive relationships, self-abuse, addictions are greatly relieved by the healing. The exact reason for the earthly suffering can be traced through a journey without knowing any
details about the persons willing to undergo the healing.
