Chakra Healing
A whirling energy centre (commonly called Chakra in Sanskrit) is seen psychically as a vortex of spinning energy located along the spinal energy pathway – Sushumna – extending out to the front and back of one’s body. The Chakras help to regulate all processes, from organ function to the immune system, to various physiological & neurological systems, emotions and memories in the body.
There are seven major chakras along the Sushmna and multiple other minor and sub minor chakras in different parts and organs of the body. Chakras both take up and amass Prana (or life force energy) and transform them. Our physical bodies cannot exist without them as they serve as gateways for the flow of energy and give life into our physical bodies.
Every chakra corresponds to a specific aspect of human behaviour and development and differs in size and activity from person to person. Each chakra has its own vibrational frequency that is depicted through a specific chakra colour, and govern specific functions.
The 1st Chakra
ROOT CHAKRA – MOOLADHARA
I AM CONNECTED TO MOTHER EARTH. I HONOUR MY PHYSICAL EXISTANCE.
I AM ETERNALLY SAFE & GROUNDED.
It represents our foundation and is located at the lower most tip of the spine. It is associated with our feelings of security, stamina and stability. This Chakra is the most favourite among spiritual seekers since it is the seat of the Kundalini (appearing as the dormant three-and-a-half times coiled Serpent), which awakens and rise through special meditations and other spiritual
practices.
Special feature: ELEMENT- EARTH: Brings awareness that others you encounter are a perfect embodiment of love and harmony. It helps you experience stability and security allowing you to move with both confidence and connection to who you are.
The 2nd Chakra
SEX CHAKRA- SWADISHTANA
I AM OPEN TO RECEIVE ALL PLEASURES OF LIFE.
I AM ALLOWING CREATIVITY TO FLOW THROUGH ME EASILY.
I EMBRACE AND CELEBRATE MY SEXUALITY.
Located in the lower abdomen, about 2 inches below the navel, the Swadishtana represents relationships, intuitions, creative expressions and sexuality. Our sense of abundance, well-being, pleasure and sexuality is governed by this Chakra.
Special feature: ELEMENT- WATER, brings efficiency to perceive other people’s feelings and helps us experience complete abundance in all areas of life – love, work, money, health. It channelizes goodness, pleasure and prosperity to come into one’s life.
The 3rd Chakra
NAVEL CHAKRA – MANIPURAKA
I TAKE CHARGE OF MY LIFE.
I AM RESPONSIBLE FOR MY CHOICES AND DECISIONS.
I AM STRONG AND STANDING IN MY PERSONAL POWER TODAY.
Manipuraka, translated as “the city of Jewels” carries the energy of true power given to us by the creator. How we are able to manifest things in our lives are directed from this chakra.
Special feature: ELEMENT- FIRE, brings direct link to one’s inner self. The rural Fire walkers have very strong navel chakra. When one has power and control of things in life, they always have a strong navel chakra. The Centre imparts a sense of who one is and what this journey is all about.
The 4th Chakra
HEART CHAKRA – ANAHATA
I AM LOVE AND I LOVE AND FORGIVE EVERYONE AROUND ME.
I ALLOW LOVE TO FILL ME UP AND GUIDE ME IN MY ACTIONS.
I FORGIVE MYSELF AND OTHERS
It is the meeting place of the lower and higher energies of our being, and is located in the centre of the chest. The energies of love and forgiveness with compassion connects with the energies of heart centre.
Special feature: ELEMENT- AIR, brings sense of love for oneself and others around in a true sense of unconditional acceptance, affection and forgiveness.
This centre is made use of by many schools for meditation, bathing oneself with love for humanity, blessing earth and allowing the love to flow through the body till the fingers tingle.
The 5th Chakra
THROAT CHAKRA – VISHUDHI
I SPEAK MY TRUTH WITH LOVE.
I EXPRESS MYSELF WITH CLEAR INTENTIONS.
CREATIVITY FLOW IN AND THROUGH ME.
The purest Chakra responsible for holding secrets is situated in the throat. Located at the throat, it connects us to our self-expressions, communications, creativity, and truth.
Special feature: ELEMENT- ETHER, brings heightened intuitiveness and connection to one’s inner voice in people. It is the chakra of diplomacy and pure relationships with others.
The 6th Chakra
THIRD EYE CHAKRA – AJNA
I AM ALIGNED WITH MY INNER SELF & TRUST THE SYNCHRONICITY THAT
SHOW UP IN DAILY LIFE.
I AM ALIGNED WITH MY PURPOSE.
I TRUST MY INTUITION, I AM STRONG & CLEAR
Activated by the powerful exercise of Shambhavi Kriya, this chakra, located within the head behind the centre of the eyebrows, the symbol of Ajna Chakra contains two elements associated with wisdom- upside down triangle and the lotus flower.
Special feature: ELEMENT-LIGHT, brings direct spiritual vision and is meant to be the seat of intuition. It is here that we visualize things through our “third eye” of intuitive knowledge. The opening of the third-eye corresponds with spiritual awakening.
The 7 th Chakra
CROWN – SAHASRARA
I AM DIVINELY PROTECTED AND GUIDED BY MY HIGHER SELF.
I AM THE UNIVERSE. I AM PURE BLISS. I AM INFINITE.
I PRAY TO HEAR THE GUIDANCE & BE RECEPTIVE TO THE DIVINE WILL.
Located at the top of your head, this chakra is the seat of higher consciousness and represents your spiritual connection with the higher, one may call it the Source, the Divine, the God, The Universe, or something else altogether. The Crown Chakra integrates all the other chakras with their respective qualities.
Special feature: ELEMENT- SPACE, COSMIC ENERGY, brings universal oneness among all the living and non-living beings on earth.
This chakra allows all the knowledge and information about divinity and universe to flow into a person. The crown chakra does not benefit from eating healthy foods and is more likely to benefit from breathing clean and fresh air and sunshine. The opening of the thousand-petal lotus chakra gives awareness that we are spiritual beings living a human existence.
